NASTC’s Driver Essential Program (DEP) is a very well-thought out and inexpensive program that will complement and strengthen your focus on driver well-being and over-all safety:

Plan 1 includes:

One time Driver Obstructive Sleep Apnea Screening* $25.00

*This one-time screening test will be performed when you set up your drivers for plan 1. This screening test will be performed by a certified doctor via a tele-conference. It includes The Epworth Sleepiness Scale, The Berlin Questionnaire, and a Body Mass Index evaluation. This screening test will indicate the likeliness of an obstructive sleep disorder.

We feel that having this screening test performed for all drivers will give you a confidential “heads-up” on the extent your drivers have sleep disorder problems. Drivers deemed not to likely have a problem will be given a certification card for them to present to your doctor when they go for their bi-annual physical. Obviously, those drivers coming back “positive” for possible problems may go for further testing (i.e., a sleep study) or not, at their discretion and with your over-sight. This program will go a long way to prove that your company is PROACTIVE in this area that is getting substantial scrutiny from our regulators.

Plan 2 is simply all of Plan 1 plus a complete Sleep Apnea detection and therapy program (under this program, a sleep study can be provided at home for $375.00) and a prescription drug card with either $100.00, $200.00, or $300.00 limits to fit each driver’s needs.

Plan 3 includes other insurance coverage with special pricing that can be purchased “a-la-carte” and includes:
• A medical plan
• Accident and short term disability
• Dental plan
• Term life insurance
• Whole life insurance
